When you bet against the spread, you’re not betting on which team will win the game, you’re betting on the margin of victory or defeat. So the question isn’t Who will win? But rather How much will they win by? The point spread (i.e. The margin of victory or defeat) is indicated by the top number in the Spread column.

Spread The Love with FanDuel Sportsbook. This offer is as good as it sounds. Just place a wager of up to $50 at -110 on Buffalo covering the spread and hope the line moves enough to the point. FanDuel Promo Code

The FanDuel welcome offer is consistent, regardless of the state you’re betting in. There actually isn’t a FanDuel sportsbook promo code, but new sign ups will still receive a $1000 risk free bet. It’s a pretty straight forward promotion – make a deposit, and place your bet. If it loses, FanDuel will refund the bet up to the maximum of $1000, as a Promotion Bonus in the form of a one time free bet.

  • Top Rated Sportsbook
  • User-Friendly
  • NJ-MI-PA-IL-IN-IA-WV-CO-TN-VA

Refunds will be issued within 72 hours, so don’t panic if it doesn’t show up immediately. As an added bonus, the one-time free bet pays both the bet amount and the profit. Other sites only pay out the profits on their free bets, meaning that if you bet $1000 at odds of +100 on FanDuel using a free bet, the pay out would be $2000 ($1000 bet + $1000 profit) whereas other sites would only pay the $1000 profit.

Notably, if your first wager includes multiple items on one betting slip, the first listed bet will be the one that counts towards the promotion. The current expiration date for the offer is December 31st, 2020.

Funding Your Account

Lastly, before you can place a sports bet with FanDuel, you’ll need to fund the account. Once logged-in you’ll see the ‘Add Funds’ button in the top right corner of your screen, which will direct you to the cashier. From there, select a payment method and deposit your funds.

Available methods may vary from state to state, but generally there are staples you’re likely to see in each market. Those include:

  • Credit Cards (Visa & MasterCard are by far the most common)
  • ACH (eCheck)
  • Online Bank Transfer
  • Wire Transfer
  • PayNearMe (can be utilized at CVS, 7Eleven, Family Dollar, and other participating retail stores)
  • PayPal
  • Prepaid Cards

For those that prefer doing things the old fashioned way, it’s also an option to visit one of FanDuel’s partner casinos and deposit directly, in person, at the counter with cash. You can also take money out of your account that way, in addition to requesting a paper check that will be mailed to your address on file. If you have concerns regarding banking and your FanDuel sportsbook account – don’t. It’s extremely easy, and if you ever have questions support is there to help.

To see what options are available, load up the FanDuel Sportsbook cashier and take a look. It’s important to keep in mind that you don’t actually have to be in a state with legal sports betting in order to make a deposit. You can fund your account at any time, so that you are ready to make bets as soon as you cross into a permitted state.

Place Your Bets

The best thing about betting online with FanDuel? It’s easy. It’s never difficult to find the event you want to bet on, with the most sought after live and upcoming contests listed front and center under the ‘Popular’ tab. Spreads, moneylines, and totals are always the first bets you’ll see, but far more options are available. Once you’ve made your pick, select it, and you’ll see your bet slip will appear, along with your chosen wager. Choose the desired bet amount, and place the wager.

By adding more than one bet to the slip you can easily turn them into Round Robins or Teasers with larger payouts.

State Specifics to Note

Before you start betting on sports it’s always a good idea to take a look at the rules and regulations to make sure there aren’t any state-specific items that may impact your experience. We’ve summarized some notables for you below:

Iowa

FanDuel has arrived in Iowa. The Diamond Jo properties in the state, located in both Dubuque and Northwood, are now home to official retail FanDuel Sportsbooks.

When Iowa first launched, there was a rule that registration had to occur in-person. Today, online sports betting is available anywhere within state lines and as of January 1, 2021, registration available anywhere an internet connection is available via your computer or mobile device.

Illinois

FWEET! – (that’s supposed to be a whistle noise). FanDuel and DraftKings are headed to the penalty box to serve 18 months for being ‘bad actors’. Illinois will soon be launching both retail and online sports betting, however, FanDuel won’t be there at the start. The state placed both DraftKings and FanDuel in a penalty box, excluding online-only licenses from being awarded until more than 18 months after the state awards its first ‘master license’. The restriction was meant to both penalize FanDuel, and give a head start to operations already in state.

Illinois casino owners felt like FanDuel’s DFS operations constitute gambling, and should have been treated as such. Thus, their continued operation was a violation of state law and deserving of a penalty. A three year ban was proposed, but the state decided that 18 months was fair.

West Virginia

West Virginia is different from the other states in that it has its own, independent sportsbook app. While other approved states in the U.S. are able to bet while using the same app, WV will require a separate download. The reason being that the West VA version also incorporates DFS.

Colorado

FanDuel arrives in Colorado through a partnership with Twin River Worldwide Holdings. Online operations are underway, though there are no immediate plans for a sponsored retail sportsbook in the state. The Colorado betting sheet is wide open with a ton of available markets. Enjoy.

Tennessee

FanDuel was there from the start in Tennessee, taking bets in the industry’s first online only market on November 1, 2020. Notably, individual player props are the only off-limits item.

Since the state has no retail component, FanDuel has no licensing or casino partner in Tennessee.

Virginia

FanDuel was the very first online sports betting site/app to get the go-ahead in the Old Dominion. FanDuel Sportsbook took its first Virginia bets on January 21, 2021. The site partners in the state with the NFL’s Washington Football Team.

Notably, the state of Virginia does not allow for wagering on in-state collegiate athletics, or college props. Beyond that, Virginian’s have access to a healthy betting sheet.

Michigan

FanDuel will soon be active and accepting online bets in the state of Michigan. It has partnered with one of the state’s three commercial casinos located in the Detroit area: MotorCity Casino. In-person betting began in March 2020, however, online sports betting is nearing launch. In fact, you can pre-register right now and secure an extra $100 in exclusive bonuses.

Click the image below to get started and secure a $50 free sports bet, and $50 free to use in the FanDuel online casino.

Browser Betting vs Mobile App

FanDuel has excelled at creating a sense of parity between browser based wagering and the mobile app experience. They use the same color scheme, and a very similar layout – get to know one, and you’ll be comfortable on the other. The differences are minor, like the bet slip appearing at the bottom of the mobile app but on the right side of the browser client. Both are clear and user friendly though.

All Apps are easy to find, at the bottom of the FanDuel homepage there’s a dedicated ‘FANDUEL APPS’ section with links for DFS and Sportsbook, both iOS and Android. You can also grab the iOS apps directly from the app store.

As mentioned above the FanDuel West Virginia sportsbook app is completely separate from the sportsbook app used in other states, and will need to be downloaded independently.

FanDuel Odds VS. The Competition

There are a considerable number of bet types for every sport that FanDuel Sportsbook offers. A few of the options that you will find include spread bets, moneyline bets, total score bets, tri-bets, and winning margin bets. There are dozens of choices so you can tailor your use of the sportsbook at FanDuel to your tastes and style.

In terms of the odds, FanDuel is consistently a top-tier choice for win potential. More often than not, they’re right alongside DraftKings and BetRivers for the industry’s best odds.

However, we compared and contrasted the odds on an upcoming Saints at Lions game. If you were to bet on Detroit, here’s the odds breakdown on the moneyline (straight bet) for each of the top sportsbooks in Michigan:

  • DraftKings: +175
  • BetRivers: +175
  • FanDuel: +172
  • BetMGM: +170
  • FOX Bet: +170

If you were to bet on the game, DraftKings or BetRivers would be the way to go.

We also checked the top Michigan sportsbooks for the Lions to win the Super Bowl. Here’s how the odds stacked up:

  • BetMGM: +15,000
  • FOX Bet: +10,000
  • DraftKings: +8000
  • BetRivers: +8000
  • FanDuel: +8000

If this were a futures bet you’d want to place, you’d want to place it at BetMGM.

Not only does this highlight how FanDuel consistently features average odds, but it also shows how important it is to shop around before placing a bet. There’s no law against joining multiple online sportsbooks in Michigan.

Overall Score

FanDuel is one of the most popular online sportsbooks in Michigan because it offers everything an experienced sports bettor likes while still being approachable for newcomers.

The FanDuel Sportsbook’s biggest shortcoming is the intro promotion. With simply a risk-free bet offer and no signup or deposit bonus, it falls short of the other Michigan options.

However, it compensates well with ongoing promotions that are on par with DraftKings and better than BetRivers and BetMGM. These include massive odds boosters and other enticing promotions that invite you to win more for less – or win for free.

FanDuel also has a great loyalty program that rewards you win comp points and other benefits as you bet. This should be a standard aspect of online sportsbooks, but it’s not, making it a standout feature at FanDuel in Michigan.

FanDuel also doesn’t have the best odds compared to its number one competitor, DraftKings. But FanDuel does have competitive enough odds that make the platform worth joining, even if you don’t bet there as often as a competing option.

Plus, FanDuel has an exceptional online casino partner, which offers a great change of pace from sports betting if that fits your betting style.

Is FanDuel Michigan Sportsbook Legit?

Yes, the FanDuel Sportsbook in Michigan is a legit sports betting platform that you can trust with your money and finances.

Partnered With MotorCity Casino

FanDuel’s partnership with MotorCity Casino in Detroit applies to both the retail sportsbook within the casino as well as the apps and website. MotorCity is an established force in Michigan gambling, and they’d only partner with a reputable brand like FanDuel.

Doing Well In Other States

With a significant market share in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and other states, FanDuel hopes to establish itself early and heavily in Michigan’s sports betting market as a premier betting choice. FanDuel launched its online sports betting app in Illinois in 2020. In late November 2020, they announced an investment in Fairmount Racecourse in Illinois to launch a retail sportsbook. This expansion is in line with their reputation in horse racing through its subsidiary TVG.

Regulated By Michigan Gaming Control Board

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) is a strict and vigilant regulator with two goals: to protect bettors and collect tax revenue. With their oversight, you can rest easy.

Stellar Reviews

If you compare the FanDuel Sportsbook app reviews to any other sports betting app, you’ll see how special a 4.7 out of 5.0 rating is. That’s twice that of most other Michigan sportsbooks. The only one that’s comparable is the DraftKings Sportsbook app.

Transparent Terms and Conditions

Few red flags are as big and bright as convoluted terms and conditions and stipulations hidden in the fine print. The FanDuel Sportsbook deliberately has the important information front and center of each promotion so you know exactly what you’re opting into.

Why Choose FanDuel Sportsbook In Michigan Over Your Local Bookie?

FanDuel has many successful retail and online locations in various states and has already introduced a brick-and-mortar location in Michigan at MotorCity Casino with many high-definition televisions, six betting windows, a VIP area, and self-service betting kiosks.

We don’t know what bookie you go with, but we doubt they offer an immersive sports betting atmosphere like the one at the FanDuel Sportsbook at MotorCity.

You also have the guarantee of the MGCB that odds are fair and winnings are paid out. If you bet with an illegal bookie instead, there’s no guarantee that you’ll be paid, and you’ll have no legal recourse if your winnings are withheld.

Also, new users to the FanDuel Sportsbook service can enjoy a free, risk-free bet of up to $1,000 to avoid losing money when starting. If you lose the game you bet on, you’ll receive site credit in the amount of the loss as long as it doesn’t exceed $1,000.

No bookie offers welcome bonuses, and we’d be surprised if any offered promotions or loyalty points.

Why Can Bettors Trust Their Money With FanDuel Michigan Sportsbook?

Fanduel spread betting rules

FanDuel is a daily fantasy sports and sports betting provider based in New York City. It was founded in 2009 and is currently the second-largest fantasy sports service in the U.S., falling only after DraftKings in terms of its user base and entry fees. So you can trust FanDuel for the same reason you can trust any major online retailer.

Other ways that FanDuel protects your money include:

  • State-of-the-art SSL encryption (the padlock icon to the left of its URL)
  • Options two-step authentication to protect your account

FanDuel Michigan Sportsbook FAQ

Can you bet on esports using FanDuel Sportsbook in Michigan?

No, not yet. The Michigan Gaming Control Board has yet to explicitly approve esports betting for the state’s legal online sportsbooks. Some tribal casinos do have esports options on the betting menu at their retail sportsbooks, as those tribal properties don’t have to abide by the regulations of the MGCB.

All of Michigan’s online sportsbooks, however, do fall under MGCB’s jurisdiction, including those offered by both commercial and tribal casinos. Esports betting could be approved by the MGCB in the future, but for now, the only place to possibly find esports betting in Michigan is at a land-based tribal sportsbook.
